This is incredibly important when embarking on a healthy eating and living routine. Think about this, you hear the trending diets and the hot topics of today… fasting and keto for example. If a person who does not eat healthy, whole natural foods right now decides (or is told) to do a fasting diet, how effective is this truly going to be on their overall body performance? Deciding to fast for 12-15 hours then returning to eating habits of fast food or something out of a box filled with fake ingredients or processed foods. The inflammation is just going to return (or in fact never go away). The aches will never dull and the pounds, especially if you’re eating 3000 calories after fasting thinking you can because you just starved yourself, will never burn off. I believe a fasting diet has great qualities, but you have to do it right! You still have to eat nutritiously healthy foods!

Same with a keto attempt. Removing an incredibly important macronutrient, Healthy Complex Carbs, means removing an incredible amount of nutrient dense micronutrients; essential vitamins and minerals found in fruits and sweet potatoes, carrots and whole grains just to name a few. And then, if you’re not educated on what low-carb foods are best and healthiest to eat, you can find yourself overloading on processed meats and even cheeses! This is known as “dirty keto”. Fake artificial sugars and a concoction of a food that has no carbs but qualifies as keto. Your body will again, be lacking in nutrients and the chronic pain, bothersome aches, fatigue, lack of energy, slow metabolism will never wane. Understanding good food and understanding your own nutritional needs and values is important! And the T.R.A.S.H. foods are never included in any quality healthy diet. If it does, then it’s not a healthy eating routine. Any diet that tells you a processed cake is healthy, no matter how many carbs and gluten they took out, is not a healthy way of living.

Begin first by transitioning to a whole foods eating routine. One that encompasses tons of vegetables and fruit! Removing TRANSFORMED foods which include but are not limited to fast foods (all fast foods! Never go there. Nothing is good for you. It’s all processed.) Always buy fresh vegetables and it’s always best to buy in-season! I have a CSA every year and it is fantastic! Local farms producing organic vegetables I pick up every week, the taste and colors are incredible!

Grass-Fed Pasture-Raised Meats and Eggs, Wild-Caught sustainably sourced seafood. Organic quality foods that taste incredible and are packed with Well-Fed Nutrition!
