WELL-FIT Fall Mountain Biking – Super Fun Well-Fit Workout!

After doing an epic cross country mountain biking trek in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Dan bought me a new mountain bike when we got home so he and I could continue with more mountain biking adventures in the trails where we live!

I love it! The bike and the sport and the thrill! We went out on the trails where we live and it was so beautiful, especially on this particular day! It was peak Autumn, with the leaves changing brightly. It was cool but not too chilly but also not too warm. The sky was clear, sun was shining wonderfully! Such a great day to get outdoors!

If you’ve ever ridden a bike, be it when you were a kid or maybe you’re an all-star biking champ, either way I’m sure you’ve felt the effort necessary to keep going at a good pace! It’s a fun strenuous workout! Very beneficial to the body, to the mind, to your overall Whole Well-Being!!!

As I’m writing this, it’s just a few days before Thanksgiving and the day after is Black Friday; a day designated by super shopping and finding incredible deals. But this has been changed to be an Outdoor Day for me. Inspired by my REI’s OptOutside movement which began in 2015, rather than go shopping, I find my place outside! REI is closed on the Friday after Thanksgiving to encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors and soak in the benefits of being out in nature and being active! I mentioned this in a few of my other blogs, Summer Hiking and Fall Hiking. I posted lots of pics to inspire you to get out and really be one with nature! Even if it’s for a quick hike or a 20 minute bike ride, go Out With Me and OptOutside on Black Friday! By reconnecting with your body and mind and skipping the retail shops, the crazy lines it will take away a lot of the stress that comes with the holidays! (Plus… aren’t there just as great deals online? I do 99% of my shopping online to be honest. I personally can’t stomach or mentally handle malls or shopping centers.) Enjoy the fresh air, feel your adrenaline pumping, strengthen your muscles and clear your mind! Look at just a few of the options to OptOutside! Fishing and Dirtbike Riding should be in there too!

So let’s get yourself a bike, whether your own or borrowed or rented, and let’s get out there! It’s so much fun! It’s like being a kid again! It’s like riding a bike!

I’m getting better at riding, I’m able to prevent crashes and falls. I’m not as fast or as good as Dan but that’s to be expected. It doesn’t matter if you are super slow, don’t feel like you have to be an overachiever out there. It’s about having fun, getting a great well-fit workout in and getting outside! #OptOutside!
